A Wrinkle In Time - Madeline L'Engle

This is my cover for A Wrinkle in Time based on the brief and templates provided by Penguin Random house for their cover design competition.

There was a lot of room for interpretation with the concepts in the book, from space and time travel, to alien planets & creatures, and supernatural beings. It was a fun challenge to figure out how to represent that, and still keep it approachable and relatable for the younger audience.

I started with sketching a lot of different ideas on paper, some coloured roughs, and then illustrated the final piece in Procreate with the custom lettering done in Affinity Designer (Illustrator).
